About Us

Welcome to our website, here you will find all the information you need on who we are as a church, what we believe and how you can get involved. We are here to help people find God and grow in their relationship with Him, serving our neighbourhood with the gifts God has given us.

McCracken Memorial Presbyterian Church opened its door in 1934 and since then we have strived to be a welcoming church to all near and far.

We want to be a neighbour to you! We believe God is calling Mccracken Memorial Presbyterian Church to be a 'neighbourhood church.' What does this mean? Well, we are first and foremost a church, a people who are called by God to be a part of the body of Jesus Christ, who are commissioned to preach his Gospel and make disciples, who baptise in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. As a church, we find our strength through individual and corporate prayer, in our study of scripture and in our shared worship. The members of the congregation feel a part of God's family: at home in McCracken and at ease with expressing their faith with others in the congregation and the world. We are a neighbourhood Church. We recognize that loving the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, strength and mind will allow us to see ourselves in terms of God's love for us, and will compel us to reach out to others with the love we ourselves have received. Our 'neighbourhood' is not a geo-graphic location; rather, it is the ethos of being a neighbour to whomever we meet. We are a neighbourhood church in that we understand that individuals come to this congegation from different backgrounds and for different reasons. We expect to have different opinions and emphases and we choose to live and work with one another in order to demonstrate the reconciling power of Christ's salvation message. We are a neighbourhood church rather than THE neighbourhood church. Part of the Presbyterian tradition, members of McCracken see themselves as partners with other Christian organisations and congregations. Whenever possible, we work with others in the wider community to extend Christ's Kingdom to these streets and beyond. We want to be a neighbour to you!
