  • What happens at a church service?
The Service consists of hymn singing, Bible readings, prayers, a monetary collection (optional) and a message from the Minister. The Service lasts about an hour, after which refreshments and fellowship are enjoyed in the Dowling Hall.
  • Are children welcome in church?
Absolutely! Children are very welcome! The first 15 to 20 minutes are child friendly then they can leave the church and meet in the hall for Sunday school/ Bible Class with trained teachers, all of whom have all been Access NI checked. A creche is provided for babies and toddlers! (Please see our Kids and Youth section of the website for more details.)
  • What should I wear to church?
Some people still dress smartly for church but casual is fine. Remember, our main focus is on coming together in faith, so please don’t worry too much about what you wear; your presence is what truly matters.
  • What should I do when I arrive?
When you arrive you will be welcomed by a church member and shown to a seat and introduced to another member.
  • What accessibility accommodations are available at McCracken Memorial?
Our premises are wheelchair accessible and we have a number of reserved parking spaces for blue badge holders, which are both near to the church entrance and to the Church Hall. We have dedicated spaces in the church sanctuary for wheelchairs and accessible toilets both in the church and the halls. There is a loop system for hearing aid users. If you have more specific needs, please talk to any of those who are on duty in the welcome team.
  • Where do I park?
We do have some parking spaces within the church but we ask if you are using these to please park within the white lines as the parking is limited. There are a number of disabled parking spaces too and we ask that these are left available for those with blue badges. When our car park is full we ask that you park down one of the neighboring side streets, you can also park on the road out the front but please do not park on the pavement.
